The IUCN FFEM-SWIO project, in which context the Walters Shoal expedition is conducted, is mainly financed by the French Global Environment Facility (FFEM), in addition to co-financing from the United Nations Organization For Food and Agriculture (FAO), Oxford University and IDDRI.


The project has four executive partners: the National Museum of Natural History in Paris (MNHN), the French Research Institute for Development (IRD), the Institute for Sustainable Development and International Relations (IDDRI) and the University of Oxford.
